Pastoral Candidate Q & A

  • Northland Cathedral 101 Northwest 99th Street Kansas City, MO, 64155 United States (map)

Introducing our Pastoral Candidate and family, Kevin and Taurina Smith and their daughter Luciana. The congregation is welcome to attend a question and answer time to become better acquainted with the Smiths on Friday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm in the worship center.

Receiving a call from the Lord at the early age of fourteen, Pastor Kevin Smith has committed the last 22 years of his life to serving God and others through vocational ministry. With the unique experience of growing up on the mission field, first in West African Benin, and later in Belgium; Kevin completed his bachelor’s degree at Central Bible College, and returned to Europe to serve as pastor of Church Ministry Development, and Youth Ministry, at Christian Center in Brussels, Belgium.

Kevin speaks French fluently and has traveled extensively through France, Belgium, and Luxembourg preaching to various churches.

Returning to the Midwest with his mission’s term complete, Kevin arrived in Springfield, Missouri to pursue a master’s degree at the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, where he met his wife Taurina.

God has led Kevin to work with churches both in Nebraska and Missouri, with the majority of his ministry years serving as a senior pastor, and a number of years as interim pastor, specializing in helping churches in crises.

In January 2017, Kevin and Taurina joined the Northland Cathedral pastoral team with a primary focus of young adults and young families. With a missional heart, Kevin and Taurina value reaching out and impacting people for Christ in the local community, as well as reaching the world through the hands and support of the local church.

Kevin, Taurina, and their daughter Luciana have valued their time in Kansas City, and Northland Cathedral due in large part to the overwhelming kindness and support of their church family.
