Hebrews 1-2
“Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things” (2:14). The author of Hebrews wants us to understand the truth about God’s Son. In order to help us, Jesus, who is “the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature” (1:3), became flesh and blood. The same Person who upholds the universe by His power chose to carry our sins and experience death, to “deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery” (2:14-15).
Because Jesus loved us enough to experience temptation, suffering, and death – and through his sacrifice was victorious - “he is able to help those who are being tempted” (2:18).
