“My righteousness draws near, my salvation has gone out, and my arms will judge the peoples; the coastlands hope for me, and for my arm they wait” (v5).  Through Isaiah, God told Israel to “look to Abraham” when they considered how to repent and pursue righteousness.  Abraham was “but one,” but he trusted in the Lord’s promises – God’s righteousness, not his own, and God blessed him.  God is “the Maker” who ransoms His people and frees the captives (v11-14), and He is the one who comforts and protects (v12).

“Lift up your eyes to the heavens” (v6).  Fixating on our troubles won’t solve them; we are called to look to our Maker who calls us His own people (v16).
