“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us” (v8).  Sometimes the forces of the world seem to press on us from all directions, and we wonder if we are strong enough to remain standing.  The psalmist felt this pressure and knew that his enemies would like to see him fall (v4); yet, he said, “I shall not be shaken” (v6).  Our lives – our salvation and ultimate glory – rest on the unshakeable “mighty God” (v7).

“Power belongs to God … to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love” (v11-12).  God’s power and His love are the foundation of our lives, and therefore we are secure.
