Jeremiah 46-49
/“The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations” (46:1). Just as Jeremiah prophesied in Judah, he also spoke over Egypt (46:1), the Philistines (ch 47), Moab (48:1), Edom, Elam, and others. These neighbors of Israel worshipped false gods and “trusted in their works and their treasures” (48:7). Jeremiah declared that they would face destruction, as Israel and Judah did, but God would also “restore their fortunes” in the latter days (48:47; 49:1).
"But fear not …Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease” (46:27). God’s promise of redemption and restoration was for His enemies - Israel, the nations, and us - because the cross of Jesus provides grace to all.
