Hebrews 9-10
/“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh …” (10:19-22). Jerusalem’s Temple had a Most Holy Place where sanctified priests could enter just once a year (9:7). Now, says Hebrews, God’s presence is open. We can draw near to God “with a true heart in full assurance of faith” because Jesus’ blood has cleansed our hearts, minds, and bodies (10:19-22).
Hebrews urges us to endure trials, temptations, and doubts, because Jesus is trustworthy. “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful” (v23).
