"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!" (v3). Isaiah saw a vision of God in His temple, seated on the throne, surrounded by fantastic beings (seraphim) who worshipped Him. This glimpse of God’s majesty also revealed to Isaiah his own sinfulness: “Woe is me! For I am lost; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips” (v5). But God touched Isaiah and sent him to witness to the rebellious Israelites (v6-10).

“Here I am, send me” (v8). When God’s reality touches our lives, we humbly admit our own sin and, at the same time, desire to share in His purposes.
