Zechariah 9-14

“Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!... Behold, your king is coming to you; righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey” (9:9). Zechariah prophesied that the Messiah would save God’s people and heal the whole earth, “to cleanse them from sin” (13:1). The Temple and sacrifices had served their purpose, but the Messiah would bring lasting salvation and purification. Instead of certain places and things being holy, through the Messiah, “every pot in Jerusalem” would be holy (14:21).

“And the LORD will be king over all the earth” (14:9). God’s desire is to save and renew the whole earth through King Jesus.  The humble baby in the manger is the Mighty God, Prince of Peace.
