Acts 26

“I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things in opposing the name of Jesus of Nazareth” (v9).  Paul testified to King Agrippa that although he had strictly observed Jewish law according to the Pharisees (the most conservative tradition), he had been blind to the Way of Jesus until the Messiah appeared to him.  Paul confessed that despite his attention to biblical morality and truth, he had been filled with a “raging fury” (v11) against Jesus and His people.  Paul needed to repent and turn to God (v20), just like the “pagans.”

“To open their eyes …” (v18).  Proclaiming the gospel to others begins with humility; like Paul, we admit our blindness, hard-heartedness, and need for a Savior.
