Acts 27
“Yet now I urge you to take heart, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship” (v22). Paul had warned the ship’s captain not to continue their journey during the risky, stormy winter (v10). However, when the ship sailed anyway straight into trouble, the Lord reassured Paul and he was able to encourage others. “He took bread and giving thanks to God in the presence of all he broke it and began to eat” (v35).
“So take heart …” (v25). Paul was “on mission,” but he cared for his fellow travelers on the way. During uncertain and troubled times, we can be agents of God’s peace to those around us.
