Galatians 1-2:10

“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel …” (1:6). Right from the beginning, the truth about Jesus and His salvation was challenged by opposing ideas and different “gospels.”  Paul wrote to the Galatians because influential people who seemed connected to the Jerusalem church were distorting the message (v7-9), questioning whether Gentiles could really be included in God’s family without obeying the Law.

Opposing ideas that threaten the gospel are nothing new. By knowing the Scriptures ourselves, we can we stand firm in “the freedom we have in Christ Jesus” (2:4) and share it with others.
