Isaiah 10
/“Shall I not do to Jerusalem and her idols as I have done to Samaria and her images?” (v11). God’s people had fallen into thinking that their own sins and idolatry would not provoke God’s wrath like the sins of other nations. But through Isaiah, God said that He judged everyone the same. God was grieved that Israelites were writing laws that favored the wealthy, “to turn aside the needy from justice and to rob the poor of my people of their right” (1-2).
God disciplines us so that we will turn back to Him in repentance and trust. “In that day the remnant of Israel ... will lean on the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth” (v20).
