Titus 2

Paul instructs Titus that older men, older women, young men and young women are to have lives that "accord to sound doctrine." For Paul, sound doctrine is only valuable in that it produces people who are "self-controlled, dignified, and have integrity." Because the "grace of God has appeared" and because we are waiting for "the appearing of Christ," we are called to "live self- controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age."

No matter what stage of life we are in, we must never cease growing in Christlikeness. That is the only real proof that our doctrine is right.
