Colossians 2

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness” (9-10). False teachers were confusing the Colossian believers (Gentile background) by saying they needed to observe the Sabbath and food laws to really honor God (16,21). But Paul reminded them that they were “in Christ” (10), and therefore they needed nothing more. Christ had cancelled their sins (14) and made them righteous – far more completely than any circumcision or Law (11).

We don’t have to keep searching for the key to perfection. All the fullness of God is in Christ, and we have received Him as Lord (6). He is our righteousness, and through Him we have Life itself (6-7).
