Psalm 117-118

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever” (118:1). The psalmist urged God’s people to remember His loving faithfulness and to make it the focus of their praise (117:2). The psalmist recalled God personally demonstrating His love to him: “When hard pressed, I cried to the Lord; He brought me into a spacious place” (118:5). He prophesied that God’s “marvelous” love would one day be revealed through a rejected yet triumphant Messiah: “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” (118:22-23).

“I will give you thanks, for you answered me; you have become my salvation” (118:21). We know God (not just about Him) when He answers our cries and becomes our salvation.
