Deuteronomy 17-18
/"And when he sits on the throne of his kingdom, he shall write for himself in a book a copy of this law …and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the LORD his God” (17:18-19). Israel’s king should not be like pagan kings. The leader of God’s people should not be greedy, or have many wives (17:16-17). Above all, he should study God’s Word daily in order to rule with wisdom and righteousness.
The laws of life are the same for kings as for servants, for business owners, teachers, pastors and parents. Knowing God and following His ways is the path to peace.
