Joshua 3-4

“For the LORD your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the LORD your God did to the Red Sea” (4:23).  God divided the Red Sea and led the people of Israel across it when they were fleeing Egypt.  Now, as they entered the Promised Land, God parted the Jordan River in the same way.  But this time, they were not escaping an enemy; they were claiming their future.

The same God who saves us also empowers us “to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Col 1:10).
