Luke 17:20-37

“Nor will they say, 'Look, here it is!' or 'There!' for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you" (v21).  For those with eyes to see it, Jesus said that the long-awaited kingdom of God was already present among them.  Jesus brought God’s perfect kingdom, as God the Son in the flesh, and as the one who accomplished the Father’s will.  Jesus also said that the fullness of the kingdom was still to come; one day the Son of Man will be “revealed” (v30) in glory to the world.

Not everyone recognized the King when he walked on earth, hidden in suffering and weakness (v25).  Yet when we accept his death, we also participate in his resurrection and glory (v33).
