Judges 15-17

“Then Samson called to the Lord and said, “O Lord God, please remember me” (16:28).  God had chosen Samson to help the Israelites fight against the Philistines (ch 13).  By keeping his vow not to cut his hair, Samson could be used of God, though he was sinful and rebellious.  Samson’s downfall came when he treated his vow casually, revealing it to a Philistine woman and thus losing God’s strength.  Yet even in death, Samson was used by God to defeat the Philistines.

God loves us so much that he is willing to redeem even our sins in order to achieve his good purposes.  His sacrificial love and mercy far outweigh our sins.
