Ezekiel 33-36

“I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways” (33:11).  God commanded Ezekiel to warn those who were rebelliously walking toward death. God wanted the Israelites to repent, to turn around, and to find life (v16).  Yet the people were uncomfortable with God’s willingness to forgive, complaining that God’s ways weren’t “just” (v17).

Israel’s leaders didn’t know God themselves, and so they couldn’t lead people to Him (ch 34).  Therefore, God declared: “I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak” (34:16).
