Psalm 144

“Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle” (v1).  The Bible teaches that God’s people face danger or trouble differently.  We depend on God Himself, whom David called “My steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge” (v2).  In fact, God often told the Israelites to “stand still” and see His deliverance.  Paul gave believers the same advice  - stand firm –  when facing spiritual attack (Eph 6).

“Stretch out your hand from on high; rescue me and deliver me from the many waters” (v7).  Whether our battle is external or internal, our Deliverer will help us.
