Proverbs 30
/“Who has gathered the wind in his fists? … Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son's name? Surely you know!” (v4). In a style very similar to Job, the proverbs contrast the weariness and ignorance of humanity (v1-2) with God’s boundless creativity and power. Trying to control our own existence leaves us “worn out” (v1), but meditating on God through His wondrous creation (rock badgers, ants, lizards and lions v24-33) refreshes our hearts.
“Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him” (v5). When we abandon our pride and rely on God’s truth and strength, our own creative energy is renewed.
