“It shall come to pass in the latter days that … many nations shall come, and say: "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD” (4:1-2).  Even though Micah prophesied exile for Israel due to their idolatry, he also was given a vision of God’s greater purpose: the healing of the world through Israel’s descendent, Jesus.  The One from Bethlehem will lead the flock of “many nations” and bring peace (5:2-5).

“And they shall dwell secure, for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth” (5:4).  True security comes from the Messiah’s reign, now in our lives through the Spirit, and one day over the whole earth.
