Romans 6
/“But thanks be to God, that you who were once slaves of sin have become obedient from the heart … and, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness” (17-18). Paul pointed out that we all live according to a certain code; we all serve something or someone. We “served” our sinful desires until Jesus set us free; now, we live for Him. We obey God’s commands because we trust Him, and we realize that our old way of life was deadly and poisonous (v21).
Having set us free, God wants us to enjoy the fruit of salvation: healthy, whole, pure life forever and ever (v22).
