Ezra 1-2

“Whoever is among you … let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and rebuild the house of the LORD, the God of Israel--he is the God who is in Jerusalem” (1:3).  Because of their spiritual rebellion, God’s people had lost their land, the temple was destroyed, and they were living in exile.  However, just as Jeremiah and others had prophesied, after 70 years, the Jews in Babylon were told that they could go home.  Even more, they were urged by their foreign emperor, Cyrus of Persia, to rebuild God’s temple.

The “God who is in Jerusalem” was teaching His people that He is God everywhere, always.  Nothing is impossible for Him.
