Romans 10
/“For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes” (v4). Paul longed to see more of his fellow Jews embracing Jesus Christ as their Savior. In order to embrace Christ’s gift of grace, the Jews would have to give up trying to create their own righteousness (v3). God invites all people, Jews and Gentiles, to call on Him in the name of Jesus (v11-12), turning our backs on sin and on self-justification, and instead reaching out for mercy. Christ is “the end” of any attempts to save ourselves.
“Zeal for God” will not save us (v2). We must embrace Jesus Himself - his life, death, and resurrection - and call him Lord (v9).
