II Chronicles 23-24
/“And Joash did what was right in the eyes of the LORD all the days of Jehoiada the priest” (24:2). Jehoiada the priest had enormous influence for good over the kingdom of Judah and its young ruler, Joash. Jehoiada deposed the wicked Queen Athaliah and put Joash on the throne; then, he “made a covenant between himself and all the people and the king that they should be the LORD's people” (23:16). Under his watch, the land was cleared of idols and worship to the One God was restored.
The priest Jehoiada used his time, his energy, and his position for God’s glory. “All the days of Jehoiada,” the king and the people followed God (24:2,14).
