Psalm 93

“Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the LORD on high is mighty!” (v4).  The psalmist rejoiced in God’s strength and His authority “from everlasting” (v2).  Human society has always been characterized by power struggles: people grappling for money, for influence, for political power, for weapons, for dominance.  Yet “the Lord reigns, He is robed in majesty” (v1), and His authority is eternal.  Before we existed, He was God, and His throne will never end.

We can rejoice in God’s power, His holiness, and His love (v5).  When we sinned, He who created the universe didn’t crush us, but died in order to save us.
