Job 24-26
/“The pillars of heaven tremble and are astounded at his rebuke” (v11). As Job’s friends urged him to repent, believing that his troubles were punishment (ch25), Job pointed out that God’s ways were not so easy to understand. God is so awesome that even “the dead” tremble before him and give up their secrets (v5-6). He “stretches out the north over the void and hangs the earth on nothing” (v7). This magnificent Creator may have reasons for his actions that we can’t see.
“Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways …” (26:14). Job cautions us against using God as evidence for our own opinions. His judgments and ways are far more wonderful than we imagine.
