Isaiah 33-35
/“The Lord … will be the stability of your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is Zion's treasure” (33:5-6). Isaiah prophesied that, due to Israel’s idolatry and alliance with pagan Egypt, war was coming to the region. However, when everything crumbled, Isaiah urged them to recognize that their real treasure was God Himself: “For the LORD is our judge; the LORD is our lawgiver; the LORD is our king; he will save us” (33:22).
“Behold Zion …an untroubled habitation, an immovable tent, whose stakes will never be plucked up …” (33:20). In uncertain, chaotic times, we are still citizens of Zion, where God dwells with His people now and forever.
