Isaiah 44-45
/“For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants” (v3). Isaiah encouraged the Israelites with a vision of God’s holy presence filling “the thirsty land” and future generations. Humans don’t have to keep worshipping idols – products of our own minds and hands (44:15) that enslave us rather than helping us. Instead, the Creator Himself loves us and works to rescue us.
“Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other” (45:22). When we turn to God, our lives get included in His good, redemptive purposes for creation (45:18-20).
