II Corinthians 13

“Your restoration is what we pray for” (v9).  Paul warned the Corinthian believers who were causing problems to repent and change their behavior before he visited them again (v1-3).  He longed for their true repentance and healing, and so he was not willing to ignore sin.  “For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth” (v8).  Paul believed that the main purpose of spiritual authority was for “building up and not for tearing down” (v10).

“Aim for restoration, comfort one another, agree with one another, live in peace” (v11).  God’s peace does not mean we ignore things that will harm us or others, but that we pursue forgiveness, reconciliation, and love.
