Colossians 3
/“Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience …” (v12). Rather than spending time learning and observing religious rituals, Paul taught the believers to submit to the Spirit’s work of heart-transformation. The real dangers we face are not outward, but inward and personal: “sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry” (v5).
Rather than worrying about religious appearances, we are called to submit our hearts and lives to Christ. “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (v17).
