Colossians 4
/“Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person” (v5-6). Paul and others were in prison because of their faith in Christ (v10), and yet Paul’s greatest concern was not his own freedom, but open doors to proclaim the gospel (v3). He urged the Colossians also to stand firm in their faith, ready to speak to others graciously and persuasively.
Whether we live in free societies or, like Paul, a hostile Empire, each day is an opportunity to let the truth and love of Christ shine through us.
