Ezekiel 3-5

“And go to the exiles, to your people, and speak to them and say to them, 'Thus says the Lord GOD,' whether they hear or refuse to hear" (3:11).  The prophet Ezekiel had a word of warning for the exiled Jews in Babylon, but he could only faithfully deliver it, not force them to obey (3:7).  Though God spoke clearly, some would respond and some would not (3:18-21).  They were warned that Jerusalem was about to fall, and the Israelites would be scattered among the nations.

“This is a sign for the house of Israel” (4:3). Jerusalem’s unrepentant citizens suffered terribly (ch 5). Because He loves us, God warns us against sin and calls us to new life.
