Jeremiah 33

“In those days Judah will be saved, and Jerusalem will dwell securely. And this is the name by which it will be called: 'The LORD is our righteousness” (33:16).  Jeremiah’s second prophecy came to him when he was imprisoned (v1) for speaking about the coming Babylonian invasion.  While Jeremiah wept over visions of war, God also gave him a vision of “health and healing.”  One day, God promised, this chaotic land will be filled with “prosperity and security” (v6,10-12).

The key to redeeming Judah’s failure, and our own failures, is “the righteous branch” of Israel (v15): Jesus Christ our Savior, who makes all things new.
