Genesis 50
/"Do not fear, for am I in the place of God?” (v19). After Jacob died, Joseph’s brothers were afraid that he would take revenge on them. But Joseph had forgiven them and was ready to move forward. Rather than obsessing over all the years he was separated from his family, Joseph focused on God’s mercy and power: “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive” (v20).
“I will provide for you and your little ones” (v21). The true test of our character is when we have power – even just a little - and choose to use it not for revenge, but for blessing.
