Luke 7:18-50

"Are you the one who is to come, or shall we look for another?" (v19).  John’s disciples wondered if Jesus was the long-awaited Messiah, and Jesus answered by pointing to his mission: “the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have good news preached to them” (v22).  However, there were those who were not thrilled by this kind of healing and preaching, according to Jesus, and they rejected him (v31,33,39).

“Your sins are forgiven” (v48).  We don’t need to look elsewhere for wholeness or healing; Jesus is good news for us and for the world.
