Luke 11:1-13

“For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened” (v10).  The basic prayer Jesus taught to his disciples gave them important essentials (glorifying God, asking for the Kingdom to come, asking for daily bread, etc) and revealed the character of the God they were petitioning.  He is more loving and generous even than good earthly fathers (v11-13), and He wants us to be bold in our asking (v7-8).

“Knock, and it will be opened to you” (v9).  The Creator is not impersonal Power; He is a Father who wants a relationship with us through prayer.
