Psalm 26

“Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the LORD without wavering” (v1).  Like all of us, the psalmist wanted his choice to follow God to be “vindicated” by a good outcome and a secure future.  His faith was more than words; he refused to spend time with hypocrites and evil-doers, and he walked in “integrity” (v4-5, 11).  He asked God to test his “heart and mind” and prove his sincerity.

“My foot stands on level ground” (v11).  No matter our present difficult circumstances, we remain completely secure in the Lord.  He will never abandon us, and in the end our hopes will be fully satisfied.
