Psalm 34
/“Oh, fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack!” (v9). The psalmist declared that God is compassionate and delivers us when we run to Him for refuge (v7-8). We should “fear” Him, not in the sense of being frightened, but in worshipful respect and obedience. This kind of “fear of God” is reflected in our behavior and produces a good life: “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it” (v11-13).
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good!” (v8). When we “taste” the joy of following God, we discover that He is our peace and refuge.
