Acts 4:1-22

“And they recognized that they had been with Jesus” (v13).  Peter and John were “uneducated, common men” in the eyes of the religious authorities, but they had been through intensive years of training: they had walked with Jesus.  They had seen the Messiah’s miracles, listened to his teaching, shared meals with him, and witnessed his death and resurrection.  Now, full of the boldness of the Holy Spirit, they were determined to keep testifying to what they had “seen and heard” (v20).

“And there is salvation in no one else …” (v12).  The power of our witness flows from the authenticity of our own experience with Jesus.
