Psalm 56
/“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You” (v3). The psalmist was afraid because his enemies hounded him, attacked him, and threatened him constantly (v1-6). Yet he trusted in God’s “word,” the whole revelation of God to His people. The psalmist believed that God’s love and protection would not fail; his life was in God’s hands. In comparison to the God who made heaven and earth and knows the future, “what can man do to me?” (v11).
“For you have delivered my soul from death, yes, my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of life” (v13). We are in God’s hands, and we can be sure He will not let us fall.
