Psalm 94

“Who rises up for me against the wicked? Who stands up for me against evildoers?” (v16). The psalmist saw wickedness go unchecked in the world, and he turned to God for “vengeance” (v1). Those who oppress widows, foreigners, and the fatherless (v6) will eventually face God’s justice (v7-13). Our Judge and King is also full of compassion; all who humbly call on God for help find that He is faithful: “When I thought, "My foot slips," your steadfast love, O LORD, held me up” (v18).

“When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul” (v19). The world’s problems and our own cares can be overwhelming, but God is big enough to care for us all.
