Psalm 103

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits …” (v2). The psalmist rejoiced that the all-powerful Creator of the universe revealed Himself as the God who forgives, heals, redeems, and satisfies us with “good things” (v3-5). This God does not stay passive or apart from the world; He made His ways known to Moses and all Israel through His acts of rescue (v7). This God does not treat us as we deserve; instead, “as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us” v12).

This same God, “slow to anger, abounding in steadfast love” (v8) sent His Son, His exact image, into the world for our sakes.
