Acts 21:1-14
/“For I am ready not only to be imprisoned but even to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus” (v13). Paul’s devout friends were “weeping and breaking his heart,” trying to persuade him not to go to Jerusalem where there was certain danger, confirmed by prophecy (v11). However, Paul’s goal in life was not to avoid danger, but to live “for the name of the Lord Jesus,” witnessing to Him and obeying Him in all circumstances.
“Let the will of the Lord be done” (v14). When we know our ultimate goal in life, all of our decisions flow in the same direction: to honor Jesus Christ in all things, wherever and however He calls us.
