I Chronicles 22
/“Now set your mind and heart to seek the LORD your God” (v19). God told King David that his son Solomon would build the Temple, and so David collected gold and silver, bronze and iron, timber and stone for the massive project (v14). Finally, David urged Solomon to “Arise and work!” (v16). With God’s help, Solomon could accomplish great things. And Solomon did build the Temple, yet because his “mind and heart” were not fixed on God, he also led Israel into idolatry.
“Is not the Lord your God with you?” (v18). God was with Solomon, but Solomon walked away. Stability and peace in life aren’t produced by wealth, but by walking in close obedience to the Lord.
