James 2-5
/“But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace” (3:17-18). James argues that righteous goals can’t be achieved by ungodly methods (1:19). Real peace in our families and societies begins with “the meekness of wisdom” (3:1) - regarding ourselves with humility and others with respect. Rather than idolizing profits, we honor God even in our business practices (5:1-9).
God calls us to treat others as He treats us. “So speak and so act as those who are to be judged under the law of liberty … mercy triumphs over judgment” (2:13).
