Joel 1-3

“Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision” (3:14).  Joel spoke of the terrifying “day of the Lord” and called on Israel to repent. God urged His people, “Return to me with all your heart …” (2:12-13).  God so desired people to turn to Him rather than be destroyed that He promised to pour out His Spirit on all flesh, sons and daughters, old and young, so that His salvation would be proclaimed to the world. 

Rather than fearing judgment day, we can turn to God and find peace.  “And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved” (2:32).
