Hosea 6-10

“For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind” (8:7). Hosea lamented the fact that Israel thought they “knew” God (8:2), while destroying themselves through sin. Instead of repenting, they relied on their own strength. “For Israel has forgotten his Maker and built palaces, and Judah has multiplied fortified cities; so I will send a fire upon his cities …” (8:14). They faced a “whirlwind” of consequences unless they changed their ways.

“Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap steadfast love; break up your fallow ground, for it is the time to seek the LORD …” (10:12). Words and labels don’t prove we “know” God; He calls us to seek Him, love Him, and follow His ways.
